Writing your practice's client agreements

Write or adapt a consent to treatment, privacy notice or other document in your practice's own words, and publish it for clients to agree to.

Who this is for: Practice administrator, Practice manager

Every client agreement is your practice's own wording. Nothing reaches a client until you publish it, and a published version is never changed: you write the next version instead.

Write a document

  1. Select Settings, then Templates and forms, and find Client agreements.
  2. Select Start from a template to begin from wording we hold, or New document to write your own.
  3. From a template, select Read the wording, then Start from this. It becomes a draft your practice owns.
  4. Give it a Heading and write What a client agrees to. Replace every marker left for you to fill in, both pairs of brackets included.
  5. Select Save as a draft.

Publish it

  1. On the draft, select Publish. Clients are asked to agree to it from then on.
  2. To change it later, select New version, write it, and publish that. The version in force stays as it is until then.

Note: A draft with a place still to fill in cannot be published, and the list says how many places are left.
